Since the news came down, Infor names Charles Phillips CEO, the company has been very busy. In addition to a variety of business acquisitions, the company has been working on new ERP, or enterprise resource planning, software and updating old and outdated versions. Over the past few months, they have rolled out several new platforms to a few different industries. The company has increased diversity while playing to its strengths, that of working the middle market and going in-depth into specific industries to provide corporation-specific systems to streamline the efficiency of companies within each of those industries. In other words, they market hotel software to hotels, rather than having generic software that can be modified for use by hotels.
For instance, Infor10 HMS Hotel Check-in is a mobile application specifically designed for the hospitality industry. It used cloud-based technology that works in conjunction with the Apple iPad. This allows staff to be mobile and thereby provide better personalized service to guests. They can print maps and receipts from anywhere in the hotel, as well as take check-ins, make keys and assign rooms. The software also increases the speed and efficiency of the housekeeping system, since both room occupancy and cleanliness can be updated instantly with the touch of a finger to the iPad screen.
Lawson Solutions for Healthcare, which includes Analytics for Healthcare, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management and Mobile Supply Chain Management are being used in hospitals to help health care facilities provide better patient care. These programs cut down on paperwork redundancies, which in turn reduces the opportunity for errors in patient information. This allows doctors and nurses to be more effective because they have more accurate information, without having to search through multiple pages in order to find it. These systems also make the intake process faster, enabling patients to get from the front desk to a room, and therefore medical staff, much more quickly.
According to Jim Catalino, senior vice president and general manager for Healthcare, Infor. “Healthcare providers have a more agile system, enabling them to adapt quickly and focus resources on what they do best, provide responsive clinical care to patients.”
Two other software solutions they have produced recently include Infor10 ERP Enterprise and Infor10 ERP business. Both these platforms have been certified by BDO Audit & Assurance B.V. as compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards. “Infor10 ERP Enterprise and ERP Business are two of the leading ERP applications in the world, with more than 25 years of manufacturing know how built in,” said Mark Humphlett, director of ERP Marketing, Infor.
Both of the Infor10 ERP softwares can be used for everything a company does or only a small specific portion of operations. They are designed not only to improve efficiency within a company, but also to help companies stay in compliance with financial transparency requirements.
